Why this Blog:
This blog is exclusively for all the students of Birla Institute of Technology, 56 BT Road, Kol 50. As on date we don't have any official website for us. So this blog can server the purpose of the same. Es-students as well as present students are welcome to post daily updates, what's new, updates of activities in college, information on off campus interviews etc. Share your memory/ experience related to BIT. History:
Birla Institute of Technology has a history of continuous development since 1959. The initial cost of establishment was sponsored by Govt. of India, Govt. of West Bengal and Mr. G. D. Birla. This Institute started functioning with 4 years LME course in 1960.
The 3 years full time diploma course in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering was introduced in 1987 with an annual intake of 30 students and that of Mechanical Engineering was introduced in 1990 with same number of students.Recently we celebrated Golden Jubilee Year of BIT.
The Assets:
With greenish environment all around, BIT is standing in B.T. Road, Kolkata. The mail building consists of three floors. we have separate Electronics and Mechanical workshops. We have a excellent Library facility with huge number of books. With so many modern and sophisticated equipments and accessories oue Electronics Laboratory is really the main highlight of our college. This Lab is the brain child of our NBS Sir. The addition of Prof. D. Bhattacharya Memorial Hall, the Auditorium, enriches the glamour of BIT.
How to Get In:
Students can get admission through Polytechnic Joiont Entrance Examination (JEXPO) and also direct admission through Poly-40 scheme.
United we Stand:
The relationship between students, teachers and non-teaching staffs are very pleasant. Teachers are very co-operative with the students. They behave with us as we are their own children. The friendly atmosphere among the stdents is a rae sset for our college.
